Frequently Asked Questions

The skilled professionals at Footloose Massage Center have a commitment to helping our clients to understand the therapeutic benefits of massage therapy.

We hope that our answers to some common questions will encourage you to include massage therapy as a proactive step to ensure your health and vitality.

After considering all facets of the booking process, we decided that personalized, direct contact with our clients ensure that we can match the optimal therapist to your needs.

Online booking can cause many problems that a simple phone call or email prevents. Many aspects go into the personal touch that we offer: matching with the best therapist, consideration of new client information, informing clients of special situations or helping them with specific needs… we speak directly with each client to ensure that we fully address each unique situation.

Another reason we do not use automated or purely online booking is that spam appointments are nearly impossible to filter out. Fake or deceptive appointments are a real thing, unfortunately, and are increasing. With direct contact, we can be confident in authenticity of our schedule, which is also a major consideration for our team and the individual time and effort of our therapists and staff.

Other than the services offered in our menu (see “pricing” and “services”), we do not offer other services such as spa treatments for hair or nails.

Footloose Massage Center only offers services authorized by the Oregon Massage Board, and only from our professional licensed massage therapists.

We do not offer any erotic massage. Repeated and/or vulgar requests for such services will be reported to official agencies, and is taken very seriously.

Absolutely!

Receiving body work is an opportunity to release tension that has accumulated in the body due to stress, physical activity, injuries, repetitive usage, and other holding patterns.

Massage brings awareness to areas in your body that need attention. It enhances other relaxation techniques, such as meditation, yoga, biofeedback and hypnosis.

It also increases flexibility, which aids performers and athletes. Everybody benefits from massage treatments!

Swedish massage is a system using long strokes, kneading, and various friction techniques on the more superficial layers of the muscles.

Many people carry their stress in the shoulder area. Those lumps are a grouping and binding together of tissues (fascia) due to stress, repetitive strain, or past injury.

You may remove whatever clothing you feel comfortable removing. Only the area being worked on is uncovered; other parts of the body remain professionally draped.

A deep tissue massage relaxes the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on contracted areas. It is called “deep tissue” because it focuses on deeper layers of muscle tissue.

Reflexology is based on the principle that there are points on the hands and feet that correpond to other parts in the body (organs, glands, and related systems). When there is imbalance somewhere in the body, it can be addressed by treating reflexology points in the feet.
